About Our Farm

Hello!  We are Andy and Loreen, owner/operators of East Island Farm. Our farm sits in a quiet valley in the Cascade foothills and is home to a historic homestead surrounded by rolling pastures, orchard trees, and a year-round stream that winds through the property.  

We specialize in purebred, IKHR registered Kunekune pigs, selling show quality breeding stock, feeders and pastured, hazelnut-finished craft pork. 

We are extreme hobby farmers and love what we do. We began raising meat pigs together in 2009, first with a Duroc-cross and later with purebred Kunekunes.  Andy has raised pigs his entire life and was even a Junior Grand Champion in pig fitting and showing as a young boy.  Loreen has been on the board of the Internation Kunekune Hog Registry producing virtual Kunekune pig shows since 2020.  

Our foundation herd was curated from all across the United States and includes many pigs from The Historic USA Herd.  We select for conformation to the breed standard, mothering ability, hardiness, growth rates and temperament.  We maintain numerous blood lines for a broad genetic footprint and ability to offer unrelated breeding groups.  

We are passionate about protecting the quality of life for our animals.  Our pigs are warm, healthy and well fed.  They happily graze the pastures and roam the woods of our property.  We are committed to the humane harvest of our meat stock, which must be swift and free of fear.  We like to think that, if you're a pig, East Island Farm is a pretty good place to be.
